Judee Levinson

Appears in:
Series 1, Series 2, The Christmas Special, Live at Drury Lane, Series 3

Played By:
Reece Shearsmith

Quickie Bio:
A rich housewife who loves to brag about her good life to her cleaning lady, Iris. Judee's home is practically antiseptic. Son Matthew will be graduating soon. Daughter Nicola, however, is bulimic and now lives in a psychiatric ward. Although we hear Judee talk about her husband Eddy and their glamorous vacations, Eddy actually died many years ago (bankrupt and dead of a heart attack at 42). Although she and Iris appear to love making (often vicious) digs at each other, Iris is actually Judee's mother.

In the Christmas Special, we learn that Judee (along with most of the female population of Royston Vasey) is a member of "Solutions" (although this is revealed in Charlie's dream, so it may not be factual).

In series 3 Judee opens a massage parlor, The Spit and Polish, with Charlie Hull. Although the patrons believe that Judee is doing the massaging, it is actually Charlie. Judee also develops a crush on Charlie, who doesn't feel the same way about her. She eventually dissolves their partnership after she learns of Charlie's infatuation with Tony.

Useless Trivia:
  • Judee and Iris are loosely based on Jeremy's mother and her relationship with their cleaning lady (from when he was little). He recalls being uncomfortable as his mother talked about the opera and such with "Irene".
  • According to the Series 2 DVD commentary, here's how the Judee/Iris relationship works -- Iris was 14 when she gave birth to Judee, and Judee was subsequently taken away and raised by someone else. Many years later Judee hired Iris as a cleaning lady, not knowing their relationship. She later discovered that Judee was her mother, but never changed the way she treated her.

  • He looks like a shaved monkey in a track-suit
  • I'd never stone clad my house. It'd look like a white filling in a mouth full of rotten teeth!

    Quickie Bio:
Judee's cleaning lady. Although she cleans Judee's home (and helps herself to Judee's liquor cabinet), Iris's own home is one of total chaos. Iris and her husband Ron have a healthy sex life. Iris has 10 kids (of which we know the eldest all too well, apparently). Some of her kids have gotten into a bit of trouble, such as Ricky - on parole after dropping cement blocks off of the flyover. She also has another job as a supermarket check-out person.

In the Christmas Special, we learn that Iris (along with most of the female population of Royston Vasey) is a member of "Solutions" (although this is revealed in Charlie's dream, so it may not be factual).

    Useless Trivia:
  • Judee and Iris are loosely based on Jeremy's mother and her relationship with their cleaning lady (from when he was little). He recalls being uncomfortable as his mother talked about the opera and such with "Irene".
  • The bit about Morrison's bags of sick in the ceiling was something Mark saw (or heard them talking about) on a documentary about a little girl.
  • According to Scripts and That, another of Iris' many jobs is that of a performer at the "Flaps In Your Lap" table-dancing club visited by Lance in series 3. Although you cannot see her performing there in the episode itself, Pop does thank someone named Iris as she leaves the stage post-performance.
